Platinum Jubilee events in Seaton today - Saturday, June 4
A packed programme of events is lined up in the Seaton area as we celebrate the third day of the Queen's Jubilee Platinum weekend.
We'll be bringing you daily updates with a list of what's on in the Seaton area every morning over the four-day Bank Holiday weekend, and look out for our round-up of the day's events in the evenings.
A jubilee-theme table top sale will be held on the public plaza outside Seaton Tesco all day from 8am today, so go along and grab a bargain.
Axe Yacht Club's AOD Fleet Review will be held on the River Axe from 11am. And on the maritime theme, a children's paper boat race will be held at Umborne Bridge in Colyton at 10am.
There will also be a street party in Church Street, Colyton, from 12noon to 2.30pm, and one outside Colyford Memorial Hall from 2pm to 4pm.
From 6pm, Colyton will host its Jubilee Party in the Park at the Peace Memorial playing field, with live music, a barbecue and bar, followed by the lighting of a beacon at 9pm.
St Gregory's Church in Seaton will host a concert by St David's Singers of Exeter from 7pm and there will be a live streaming of the Platinum Party in the Palace in London, at The Gateway Theatre.
All weekend events will include cruiser and dinghy racing, canoeing and kayaking at Axe Yacht Club, and a flower festival at St Gregory's Church, open 10am to 5pm Friday to Sunday.
A visual display of significant events during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II will be held at The Axe Valley Heritage Centre (Seaton Museum) from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 5pm every day over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The Nub News team will be attending as many Platinum Jubilee events as possible over the four-day weekend, but unfortunately we cannot get to everything. Please send your jubilee photos to [email protected] for inclusion in our jubilee coverage!
