A scaled-back Seaton Carnival Week will be going ahead at the end of summer.

Seaton Carnival Committee announced last month that it was unable to go ahead with its annual carnival procession for the second year due to COVID-19 restrictions.

However, it has now announced a scaled-back programme of events which will take place at the end of August and beginning of September.

Events will get underway with a coffee morning and stalls at the Methodist Church Hall and a car boot sale in the church car park on Saturday, August 28.

On Sunday, August 29 the popular classic car show will return to The Esplanade and on Monday, August 30 the street fair will be held on the seafront. There will also be a bowling drive at Seaton Bowling Club.

A car treasure hunt will be held on Tuesday, August 31, starting at 6pm at the Methodist Church car park and on Thursday, September 2 there will be a dog show at 10.30am next to The Galley on The Esplanade.

Other events will include a fishing competition from the beach, depending on the tide, with times to be advised, as well as a darts match at Seaton Football Club.
