New outdoor gym equipment has been installed at Seafield Gardens in Seaton, but cannot currently be used due to new lockdown restrictions.

Seaton Town Council announced today that installation of the equipment has been completed, but fencing still surrounds it as it will not be available to use by the public until COVID-19 restrictions are eased.

The equipment was installed in the gardens following a public consultation on the best location for the outdoor gym, following the removal of old equipment that was no longer fit for purpose.

The council has thanked all those who contributed their views, saying the overwhelming majority of those who responded were pleased that the equipment was being replaced, albeit in a new location.

They also thanked East Devon District Council for the help and expertise provided in assisting with the tender process, arranging and overseeing the installation and, going forward, maintaining the equipment.

A council spokesman said: "This is a great example of partnership working to achieve a positive result for Seaton in these challenging times."
