Seaton traders are determined to provide ample opportunity for residents to support local shops over the Christmas period, despite fears for an extended lockdown period over the festive season.

A number of shops are working together to stage three late-night shopping events in the run-up to Christmas on Friday, December 4th, Friday, December 11th and Friday, December 18th.

A number of shops will stay open until 7pm on these dates with every effort being made to make the occasion as festive as possible.

These arrangements may be subject to change dependent on government advice on the given dates.

A spokesperson for the shopkeepers said: "We will be doing our best to create a festive atmosphere in and around the town centre and we are hopeful that all shops will be able to re-open in time for Christmas after the present lockdown ends on December 2nd."
