Don't look down! Council carries out cliff inspection in Beer

East Devon District Council is carrying out cliff inspections in Beer this week - and it's not a job for the faint hearted!

The council carries out annual cliff inspections in Beer, Budleigh Salterton, Seaton and Sidmouth to ensure public safety, and has shared this amazing photo of work underway on the sheer cliff face in Beer this week.

These inspections include removing loose material and additional safety works such as installation of rock netting.

The council said that this year's inspections were proceeding well and work would continue in Beer until Friday.

Parts of the footway beneath the cliff may have to be closed periodically and the public are asked to use alternative paths, such as via Sea Hill, to access the beach if required.
