Coastguards called to injured woman on Seaton beach

Coastguards and the ambulance were called to Seaton beach on Sunday morning after a woman broke her wrist and sustained head injuries in a fall.

Lyme Regis Coastguards were called to the scene at 9.56am to assist the ambulance service.

They were covering for Beer Coastguards, who had spent 11 hours in a multi-agency response to the discovery of an unexploded World War Two bomb in Exeter.

As first on the scene, coastguards gave initial care to the casualty And then assisted the ambulance service in getting the woman back to the land ambulance. She was taken to hospital for further care.
