Colyton Carnival Committee donates more than £6,000 to local causes

More than £6,000 has been handed out to local good causes by Colyton Carnival Committee.

Thanks to generous donations made during carnival week in September and the return of the illuminated carnival procession after Covid, a total of £6,210 could be distributed to local organisations which form part of the carnival committee and help stage the events.

These incude: Short Mat Bowls; Colyton Brownies; Colyton Scouts; Nunsford Nutters; Colyton Football Club; Colyton Primary School Family & Friends Association; Colyton Theatre Group; Colyton WI; Colyton Youth Football Club; Thursday Club.

The carnival committee meets every fourth Tuesday of the month at 7.45pm in the St John Hall, King Street, Colyton. If you would like to become involved, new members are always welcome.

Colyton Carnival Week 2023 will run from September 2 with the carnival procession on September 9.
