In their third call-out in three days, Beer Coastguard helped to rescue a second person who had fallen from a cliff this week.
Coastguards from Beer and Lyme Regis were called out at 2.18pm yesterday (Friday) to assist a woman who had fallen six feet from a cliff and had broken he leg.
It followed a dramatic multi-agency rescue the previous day (Thursday), in which a woman had fallen 100 feet down a cliff between Seaton and Beer and miraculously suffered no serious injuries.
Beer Coastguard had also been called out on Wednesday, along with Exmouth Coastguard and Sidmouth lifeboat to assist Devon and Cornwall Police with an incident on the coast - no further details were released.
In yesterday's incident, the woman was found at Culverhole, east of Seaton, and a 35-minute walk along the beach.
Team members made their way to the casualty, along with a paramedic and stretcher.
They agreed a helicopter was the best option to extract her from the scene, as a stretcher carry along the beach would have taken an hour and caused more pain to the casualty.
The coastguard helicopter from St Athan in south Wales was called and, on arrival, dropped a winchman on the beach and took off again to assess a landing site near the ambulance at the river mouth. It then returned to pick up the casualty.
The helicopter landed at the river mouth and the casualty was taken by land ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
