REWIND: Remembering Seaton Woolworths

It's been almost 12 years since more than 800 Woolworths stores across the country closed down - and it has to be one of the most missed shops in UK history!

So here's a blast from the past, with photos showing the Woolworths store in Seaton, first opened in 1955 and closed when the chain shocked the nation and went into administration in 2008.

Goulds Temperance Hotel and Restaurant occupied the prominent site near Seaton seafront for many years previous.

These photos were sent to Seaton Nub News from Kevin Avery of the Wooworths History and Pictures Facebook page, where you can find lots more to reminisce over.
