Seaton & District Hospital League of Friends recently received a cheque from Waitrose for £333.

The League of Friends were selected by the Sidmouth branch for its August Community Matters Scheme, along with Axminster charity Project Food, formerly known as HALFF, and Hospiscare, each receiving a share of £1,000.

The League was delighted to be one of the chosen charities and recently attended the Sidmouth store to collect the cheque.

Shirley Robinson, League trustee, said: "We are enormously grateful to Waitrose and to its customers for helping to raise such a generous sum for our charity."

Seaton & District Hospital League of Friends has relied solely on donations during lockdown as its charity shop has been forced to close doors.

The League has continued to fund the widely-acclaimed Seaton Hospiscare@Home service, provided by Hospiscare, throughout the pandemic for patients registered with medical practices in Beer, Colyton or Seaton.
