Beach-goers have been advised against bathing off Seaton for the second time in a week due to pollution risk.

Signs advising against bathing have been displayed at Seaton, Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton today (Thursday), following heavy rain. It comes after bathing was also advised against in Seaton on Tuesday,

An East Devon District Council spokesperson said: "The Environment Agency (EA) alert advises against bathing in Seaton, Sidmouth Town and Budleigh Salterton due to pollution resulting from the recent heavy rain.

"We advise everyone to stay out of the water while the warning is in force.

"We hope bathing will be open again tomorrow.

"Further detail on the EA Pollution alerts/forecasts and the potential sources of pollution can be found on the EA's swim info site."
