LYME Regis Reserves' new management team got off to a blazing start on Saturday with a 6-2 victory over Devon & Exeter league Division 1 East opponent, Tipton St John.

Former Millwey Rise manager Shane Featherstone, a Lyme player for the past three season, and defender Mark Batey have taken over the running of the Seasiders' second string after Nick Tregale and Darren Stewart stood down due to work commitments.

Axminster Reserves returned to action at Tiger Way on Saturday after four weeks in lockdown in fine form, banging in six first-half goals against Devon & Exeter league Division Two East contenders Feniton.

The Tigers lined up with three players missing but any concerns that manager Dan Prettejohn had about his players being a touch rusty after going four weeks without a game was soon put to rest when Charlie Wilson lobbed the Feniton keeper from 25 yards with the game only two minutes old.

Dan Prettejohn - Axminster Town's new reserve team manager

Football returns to Tiger Way tomorrow when Axminster Reserves resume their Devon and Exeter League Division 2 East campaign.

The Tigers second string go into the fixture topping the table with a three-point advantage over second placed Ottery St Mary. Their opponents, Feniton 2nds, will be no push over, however, sitting in third place but with only two wins and three draws out of their six fixtures, this is a game which Dan Prettejohn's team will expect to win.
