LYME Regis sailor Jim Turner is currently among the American Magic crew competing for the America's Cup.

American Magic is currently competing in races for the 2021 Prada Cup – the winner of which will go on to sail against the defender 'Te Rehutai', sailed by Emirates Team New Zealand on behalf of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, for the 36th America's Cup, the oldest international sporting trophy.

Lyme Regis Sailing Club Commodore, Rob Wiscombe, continuing the tradition of family membership of the club, sailing the Medina he owns with father John

"LOOKING forward to the next hundred years, while we celebrate the past" was the message from the commodore of Lyme Regis Sailing Club on the anniversary of its first meeting, held on January 8 1921 at Belmont, Pound Street, then the home of Dr Cooper.

Founder members included Juby Wiscombe, great-uncle of the present commodore, Rob Wiscombe.

FOLLOWING the government decision to place Somerset in COVID-19 tier three, the Perry Street League has suspended football for the month of January.

The Management Committee has issued the following statement:  "It has been agreed that, given the travel restrictions imposed following Somerset's escalation into tier 3 whilst other parts of the League remain in tier 2, we have no option but to suspend the league fixtures until further notice.
