UPLYME 1sts got back to winning ways with a comfortable 4-1 home win over a physical Donyatt in Perry Street Division Two – but yet again their opponents were determined to kick them off the park using any tactics necessary.
After dropping points last week Uplyme were more decisive in front of goal, with an excellent double from the sharp Alex Jones giving the Swallows a 2-0 lead at half-time.
Tony Pinder, one of Axminster Town's most prolific strikers in recent times, is returning to Tiger Way.
Manager Josh Stunnell has confirmed that Pinder, who in his last season with the Tigers scored 31 goals, had returned to the club and will be in the squad for Axminster's home match against Newton Abbot Spurs tomorrow (Wednesday), a fixture sponsored by Nub News Sport.
AFTER their 10-0 thumping of Pinhoe in Devon & Exeter League Division Two East the previous week, Axminster Reserves were hoping for another convincing victory.
But neighbours Millwey Rise had other ideas and contributed in no small measure before a boisterous crowd at Tiger Way which included many players from seasons past renewing old rivalries.

After a long lay-off Seaton Town 1sts finally kicked off the eagerly awaited new season - with new management duo James Carmichael and Barry Seymour and a very strong squad - made the difficult trip to Chard Town Reserves in the Devon & Exeter Premier East Division on Wednesday night.
Always a difficult place to go, the infamous Chard slope added to the difficulties the team would face.
Ilchester Under 12s 0, Axminster Under 12s 7
Axminster's first competitive match in the Yeovil and District League started well, passing the ball about with control and creating chances but the home keeper was in inspired form, keeping out a number of attempts from all angles.
