Uplyme hosted Seaton 2nds on Saturday, hoping to do the league double over their local neighbours.

With some key players away, it meant manager Steve Gillan had to shuffle the squad. With no natural centre backs available, it was down to Cody Bowditch and new signing Conor Newns to step into the roles.

Ninety minutes and 15 goals later, it seemed that the move had paid off. Uplyme dominated from the kick-off and ran out 15-0 winners.

Seaton had no answer to Bowditch's distribution and link-up play with skipper Fin Mclean and Daley Holmes, who supplied so many great balls into the box from the right side.

Four different players scored a hat-tricks - Oli Alner, Mclean, Oscar Sladen and Ben Prosser, with Bowditch scoring a double and Holmes grabbing one for himself.

Manager Steve Gillan: "It was a pleasure to watch that 11 play. They work hard for each other and always want to improve every game. The scoreline doesn't really flatter us, as the football we played deserved the result. To score that many means you need to be clinical, take your chances and not be arrogant to the opposition.

"Credit to Seaton, however.  They kept playing positively all game. Conceding double digits can sound embarrassing for any club, but they'll bounce back. I believe our best-ever score was 14-0, so we've edged that with this team.

"Prosser and Sladen's hat-tricks were great, as they now go off to uni. Ben gets my man-of-the-match for his constant driving in that midfield, but so many lads put in a stellar performance. We keep learning and trying."
