Artwork installed to celebrate Seaton's famous Grizzly race have been removed from a wall on the Harbour Road roundabout due to deterioration.

The panels of artwork, installed on the roundabout outside the Marshlands, had deteriorated over recent years and have now been remove to also allow for maintenance to be carried out on the wall.

Re:store community booklet

Re:store Axe Valley, a community interest company (CIC), has been set up to continue what has been established by the Seaton Coronavirus Community Group.

The CIC was set up by y Ben Tucker, Simon Smith, Carly Dean-Tribble and Andrew Gwyn Davies with the aim of building on the help provided by volunteers, along with the strong sense of community that has emerged.

A-level students from Colyton Grammar School, who received their results on the school's astro turf to enable safe social distancing.

In the most extraordinary of A-level years, students from Colyton Grammar School have been awarded the top marks of the region, with a number going forward to prestigious universities and courses.

Of the 117 cohort, 14 gained A* grades with four students achieving A* in four A-levels. Three students achieved three A* grades with an A* in the Extended Project Qualification; four students have three A* grades and an A; and three students have three A* grades.

Devon & Cornwall Police is calling on residents and visitors to respect our region after a weekend which saw record 999 calls, increased levels of anti-social behaviour and public order incidents.

Over Saturday and Sunday, August 8 and 9, the force saw 2,301 999 calls – compared to 1,819 in the same period for 2019. This is an increase of 26.5 per cent.

Harbour Road public toilets to reopen

Public toilets at Harbour Road/Thury Harcourt Place in Seaton will reopen from tomorrow (Wednesday).

After reviewing coronavirus regulations and carrying our risk assessments, the toilets have been scheduled for reopening by East Devon District Council.
