One of Colyton Primary Academy's longest serving members of staff, Sharon Young, has retired after 34 years.
Ms Young said of her time at Colyton: "I would like to say what a privilege it has been to teach at Colyton, it has been a very special place to work."
Ms Young started her career in Colyton in 1987 and has dedicated herself to educating the children of the town ever since.
She has likely taught near on 1,000 children in that time and they have all benefited from her knowledge and expertise – from the Ancient Greeks to German, she can do it all!
Ms Young has been an integral cog in the school and children, parents and colleagues will miss her.
Head of school Aerfen Mills said: "Ms Young epitomises what an outstanding teacher is. We shall all miss her, she is an excellent colleague and tireless in her dedication to perfection.
"All of us strive to be as organised, hard working and thorough as she is! She has left a huge void at our school."
Although she will be missed at the school, the staff and children look forward to seeing her enjoying a truly well-earned retirement.
And she has plenty to keep her busy, being a keen walker, swimmer and tennis player she will have plenty to keep her occupied in the coming months.
Mrs Mills and all of the staff, past and present, wish to say a huge thank you to Ms Young.
