Colyton has a long history of being the most rebellious town Devon and one that pulls together in a crisis - and this last few weeks has been no different.
The staff, parents and students of Colyton Primary Academy have been blown away by the support and generosity they continue to receive from the town.
Head of school Mrs Mills explained that when the current lockdown was announced and the expectation of home learning included an increase in the amount of online learning, it quickly became apparent that there were many families in the town without sufficient devices to help their children learn.
Some families are struggling with two or more children and just a mobile phone to watch lessons.
But the people of Colyton have stepped up and, after a plea from the school, they were inundated with offers of laptops and tablets to help.
To add to this, the Colyton Chamber of Feoffes donated 10 new devices to the school.
"This was such an amazingly generous offer and we are both humbled and grateful!" said Mrs Mills.
"With a donation like this we can not only help the children now but it will also benefit the school longer term too."
The primary school was then approached by Colyton Grammar School which also donated additional devices.
Not only have the town stepped up when it comes to learning, they have also joined in the school's 'Give Us a Wave' campaign, with families are putting 'waves' in their windows so that they do not feel alone at a time when a physical greeting is not possible.
