A NEW interactive map has confirmed there have been ten COVID-19 related deaths in the Seaton area.
The map has been launched by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) and allows the public to search for COVID-19 related deaths by electoral area using their postcode.
The deaths shown on the map are those which happened between March 1 and May 31, where coronavirus was the underlying cause or was mentioned on the death certificate as a contributory factor.
It shows there have also been 10 deaths in Seaton - nine in April and one in May. There have also been 10 deaths in the Axminster area (five in April and five in May); one in the Kilmington, Colyton & Uplyme area in April; and one in the Sidbury, Offwell & Beer area in May.
Six deaths have been recorded in Sidmouth and Sidford (five in April and one in May) and there have been three in Honiton (two in April and one in May).
The map only gives the electoral area in which the deaths were recorded and not a more specific location.
Across the West Dorset border, no coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in Lyme Regis, Charmouth and the Marshwood Vale area.
