Summer fete at Seaton retirement development to raise money for Devon Air Ambulance
Apartment owners at Churchill Retirement Living's Jubilee Lodge in Seaton will host a Summer Fete on Saturday, July 22 to raise money for the Devon Air Ambulance.
The event will be opened by the Mayor of Seaton, Cllr Amrik Singh, and will take place from 1pm to 4pm.
Visitors who attend can enjoy a summer's afternoon in the development's attractive garden and communal areas, with cakes and refreshments, a tombola, grand prize draw, guess the teddy bear's name, guess how many sweets are in the jar, boules, smack the rat, and many more fun games.
Entry to the event will be £1 per adult and 50p per child, which will include tea/coffee or soft drink and a biscuit, with all proceeds going to Devon Air Ambulance.
The fete is being held in memory of former Jubilee Lodge resident John Claydon, who died following a car accident earlier this year. His passenger Jane survived the accident thanks to the excellent care and response of the Devon Air Ambulance and is now back home in her apartment and on the road to recovery.
Lodge Manager Karon Banks said: "We're delighted that the town mayor will be joining us to officially open our summer fete at Jubilee Lodge. Everyone in the local community is invited and we're looking forward to welcoming as many people as possible.
"There will be a host of fun games, refreshments and good company on offer and we're hoping to raise much needed funds for an excellent local charity."
