South West Water will be reimbursing some customers affected by loss of water supply in the Axminster and Seaton areas over the weekend.

Some customers have said they were left a without water supply for more than 60 hours after a water main burst, which South West Water struggled to find the location of.

Residents and businesses complained about a lack of communication from South West Water and slow delivery of alternative water supplies from the company, with local supermarkets selling out of bottled water.

In a statement released this morning, South West Water said it had "worked hard all weekend and through the night to restore water to customers".

They said the water supply had now been restored but some residents have said they still do not have running water.

Customers who were left without water for 12 hours will now be reimbursed £30, plus an another £30 for each further 12-hour period without water. These payments will be made within 20 working days.
