Sonic boom heard across Devon

A LOUD bang was felt across Devon and further afield this afternoon.

At around 3pm residents heard and felt the so-called 'sonic boom', with some writing on social media that their homes shook.

But it is not yet known what it was.

The BBC reported a Ministry of Defence spokeswoman said the noise was not believed to be linked to any RAF aircraft.

There are also reports of a meteor being spotted over Jersey and that this may have had something to do with the noise.
