Sidmouth lifeboat finds catamaran badly damaged between Seaton and Beer

Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat was called out to a report of a small catamaran on the rocks between Seaton Hole Beach and Beer Beach on Wednesday (24 August).

The lifeboat was launched at 5.45pm. The catamaran was found badly damaged at the entrance of a cave but no-one was hurt.

The crew put the boat in a safe position ready to be recovered by the coastguard.

A spokesperson said: "Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat was tasked to investigate a small catamaran on the rocks at Whitecliff between Seaton Hole and Beer Beach.

"The boat was located in a cave entrance badly damaged, thankfully with no casualties.

"The crew made sure the boat was in a safe position, ready for later recovery by Beer Coastguard Rescue Team."
