Seaton's summer season to close with jurassic theme weekend

Seaton will be celebrating its place on the world famous Jurassic Coast with a weekend of jurassic theme events later this summer.

Seaton Jurassic Weekend will be held from Thursday, August 24 to Saturday August 26 and will culminate with an outdoor screening of the original Jurassic Park movie.

Events will get underway with a Jurassic Quiz at The Gateway Theatre from 7pm on Thursday, August 24, with teams of up to six people welcome to join for £6 per person. Tickets are available to purchase via The Gateway Theatre.

A free children's festival will be held from 10am to 4pm on Friday, August 25 at the Underfleet play park. Bring along a picnic and enjoy science workshops, circus skills, a pop-up beach school, magic shows, a majorettes display, make your own slime, dinosaur sand art, plus a stage area for young aspiring musicians.

Community groups will be there with lots more fun activities and watch out for the special guests!

Marking the 30th anniversary of the release of Jurassic Park, Seaton will be taken back to 1993 with a 90s theme disco at The Gateway Theatre from 8pm on Friday, August 25, with tickets costing £6 per person.

Then for the highlight of the weekend – Seaton Outdoor Cinema presents Jurassic Park on Saturday, August 26, starting in Cliff Field Gardens. Gates will open at 7pm with the film starting at about 8.30pm.

Tickets for this event cost £12 for adults and £9 for under 16s, available at Seaton Tourist Information Centre, Coast Craft and Owl and Pyramid.
