Seaton artist Banski has opened an exhibition of his work today (Friday) at the Savooni Art Space in Beer Road.
Banski is the pseudonym adopted by a local Seaton artist and should not be confused with Bristol-based street artist Banksy.
But the Seaton artist is equally allusive and will be wearing a face mask at the exhibition to protect his identity.
He commented: "Often the public have pre-conceived ideas of art and artists. Artists can be versatile with their styles and mediums but are commonly identified for one way of working. Therefore, not knowing the artist allows the viewer to just appreciate the art."
The theme of Banksi's exhibition 'Signs' and he explained: "Signs are used to influence our decisions every day. I use the signs you see around you and subverts them for a humorous take."
The digital artwork incorporates hand drawn artwork with the inclusion of road and other signs that can be seen in our own environment.
The exhibition of framed prints opened today at the Savooni Art Space at 6a Beer Road (EX12 2PA) and will run for several weeks. Visitors will be able to place orders for the works on show or commission the creation of their very own Banski.
