Seaton will be taking part in the national Love Parks week, with activities to be held across East Devon this summer.

Keep Britain Tidy's Love Parks week returns to East Devon with a packed programme of fun, free activities for the whole community, taking place between Monday, July 31 to Friday, August 4.

Activities include nature stories, guided wildlife walks, seed planting, creative art workshops and a variety of 'give it a go' sessions such as Tai Chi and crochet.

In Seaton, events will be held on Thursday, August 3 between 10am and 2pm at Seafield Gardens, including a free mini golf competition, giant garden games, give it a go crochet, flower takeaway, fly a kite, wildlife scavenger hunt and Bradley the busker.

Other events will be held as follows:

  • Monday, July 31 – The Green, Budleigh Salterton
  • Tuesday, August 1 – The Glen, Honiton
  • Wednesday, August 2 – Manor Gardens, Exmouth
  • Friday, August 4 – Connaught Gardens, Sidmouth

Councillor Geoff Jung, East Devon District Council's portfolio holder for Coast, Country and Environment, said:"Love Parks Week is an amazing week full of free events and activities for absolutely everyone. The week highlights the value of our green spaces and their ability to bring communities together."

Every year, Love Parks Week celebrates green spaces, as well as the dedicated volunteers and workers who look after them.

Nationally, the 2023 campaign is focussing on how parks can be made safer for women and girls.
