Seaton resident Alex Rowe and his brother-in-law Mike Milburn will be challenging themselves to a 100-mile trek of the south coast to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).
The pair will be walking from Mike's home in Bournemouth to Alex's in Seaton, covering 100 miles in a single stint - no stop over and carrying everything they need for the trek.
They have chosen to take on this challenge for MNDA as Alex's father and Mike's father-in-law, Martin Rowe, also from Seaton, was diagnosed with the disease in 2011.
Motor Neurone Disease is a life-shortening, rapidly-progressing neurological disease that attacks the nerves that control movement. It can affect the way you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe.
There is currently no cure but the association are fighting to find breakthroughs and to help improve the lives of people living with MND.
Fundraising is crucial to the charity as they are not government funded.
Alex said: "This is an amazing charity doing superb work to help find a cure for this horrible disease. MND is extremely close to the hearts of our family."
Alex and Mike were hoping to raise £1,000 in sponsorship but have already more than doubled their target, with donations currently standing at £2,241.
You can sponsor them by making a donation on their JustGiving page.
