Seaton Jurassic - one of the town's main tourist attractions - has closed its doors after five years.

In March it was announced that the trust had pulled out of operating the visitor attraction, owned by East Devon District Council (EDDC), and it would not be reopening when coronavirus restrictions were eased.

It said the unique and unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic combined with the need to undertake substantial, costly renovations to the attraction's exhibitions, was at the heart of this decision.

However, in June EDDC announced that the trust had agreed to open the centre for one last summer Seaton, which came to an end over the weekend.

A statement from Devin Wildlife Trust said: "After five years of engaging visitors with the wonders of the Jurassic Coast, Devon Wildlife Trust has welcomed its last visitors to the Seaton Jurassic attraction today.

"We want to thank all of our visitors, volunteers, staff and partners who supported the centre, and joined us in being transported to a marine world very different to our own.

"East Devon District Council, the building owners, will be carrying out maintenance work and will announce plans for the site in due course."

The trust released the above graphic to show some of its achievements from god past five years.
