Seaton crew called to Scalwell Mead car fire

A quick response from Seaton fire crew prevented a car fire from spreading to a neighbouring property last night (Thursday).

The crew were called to the vehicle fire at Scalwell Mead in Seaton at about 9.20pm last night, with one engine attending the incident.

On arrival, the crew confirmed the vehicle was well alight and got to work quickly to ensure the blaze did not spread to the neighbouring property.

They used one breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

The car sustained 50% damage by fire and 100% smoke damage, and was left in the hands of police.
