Seaton Chambers hopes to get town looking shipshape for summer!

The recently-formed Seaton Chamber will be launching an annual Shipshape Festival next spring, with the aim of preparing the town for the summer season.

The festival will call on the community to work together to tidy up the town before the peak holiday season –painting, refreshing and cleaning with a big celebration at the end.

More details to follow over the next few months and, ahead of the festival launch in 2024, Seaton Chamber will be holding a Shipshape Clean Up this month.

They are hoping that local residents and businesses will join then on Tuesday, July 18 from 5pm, meeting in Windsor Gardens, to pull out weeds, clean shop windows and street signs, or litter pick.

This will be followed by a 'Clean Up Knees Up' at The Hideaway on Seaton Esplanade.

The clean-up event comes after members of the new Seaton Chamber recently took to the streets themselves, dressed as pirates, to clean road signs in and around Seaton.
