Most local flooding issues have now subsided but some roads have suffered damage so look out for potholes!

There are no major traffic issues reported in the Seaton area and trains are running as scheduled.

Fact of the day

Seaton is notable for having one of the world's first concrete bridges, built over the River Axe in 1877, by the Seaton and Beer Railway company. This is one of the earliest concrete bridges in Britain.

On October 22 1966, one of Britain's most notorious double-agents, George Blake, escaped from prison in London after a daring break-out believed to have been masterminded by the Soviet Union. After escaping from Wormwood Scrubs, George Blake made his way to Moscow, where he has lived ever since in a state-owned flat.
