The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms continues today from 4am until 12noon, with the possibility of rain and gusty winds causing some disruption.

However, the rain is expected to ease off slightly throughout the day, before more heavy showers again from 7pm.

Fact of the day

In Saxon times Seaton was known as Fluta or Fleet, the Saxon word for creek. The town of Fleet was founded by Saxon Charter in 1005 AD. The first mention of Seaton was in a papal bull by Pope Eugenius in 1146.
