The Seaton, Beer and District branch of the RNLI will be holding a socially-distanced autumn walk to raise funds for the life-saving charity.
The walk will be held this Sunday (October 25th), meeting at the layby on the A375 road to Honiton, at the junction to Blackberry Camp.
The route will take walkers either seven or nine miles, via Colyford to Colyton or finishing in Seaton.
The event is being organised by branch secretary Wendy Cummins, who has taken part in a sponsored walk for the charity every year since becoming secretary in 1997.
Wendy commented: "The RNLI has been very busy this year and we hope to raise lots of money though sponsorship and donations.
"Due to the COVID-19 restrictions we haven't held a fundraising event since our SOS Table Top Sale in January. Our shop at Jubilee Gardens, Beer has also been closed since March due to the restrictions and we won't be opening during the remainder of 2020 as the shop is small.
"We hope to re-open in spring 2021 and it will be the 40th anniversary of us first having a shop in Beer. The Lyme Regis and Exmouth RNLI shops are now open.
"We have retained a few Christmas cards and RNLI sale items to possibly have to have a stall or attend an event in the months leading up to Christmas."
Those wishing to take part in the walk must pre-register for the event by calling 01297 23040 (leave a message if no answer) or email [email protected]. Sponsorship forms are also available.
Those taking part should meet at the start point at 9.45am for a 10am start, but should adhere to COVID-19 regulations, remaining socially-distanced and walking in groups of no more than six.
Donations to the RNLI can also be posted to branch secretary Wendy Cummins at 3 Belmont Terrace, Causeway, Beer, Devon EX12 3LE, or donate via the JustGiving website.
