Why not get yourself into the mood for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration weekend by watching a unique film in Beer this Thursday?

Beer Film Society, in co-operation with Beer village manager Kayleigh Westlake and the Mariners' Hall, will be screening 'A Queen Is Crowned' – a lavish documentary film – in colour – of Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation in 1953.

The documentary, which has recently been restored to improve the quality, charts that amazing day in London and offers a nostalgic glimpse of what now seems a totally different era.

Sir Laurence Olivier narrates the documentary to add further lustre to the production which showcases traditions that date back to almost a thousand years.

The film last 1hr 22mins so will be shown without an interval but the bar will be open beforehand and ice creams will be on sale.

Doors will open at 6.45pm and the film will start at 7.30pm. The event is open to everyone so no reservation system will be in operation.

Just turn up early enough to grab a seat, watch history unfold before your eyes and enjoy a trip down memory lane!
