THE Promote Seaton Partnership is to be restarted at the end of August and before the September meeting of Seaton Town Council.

The chairman of the initiative, Cllr Del Haggerty, in a message on the council website, said that so many great ideas originated from the group that he wanted to develop it and encourage more people to participate.

Cllr Haggerty said: "I plan to hold two meetings initially both on Zoom, one for the main group and one for the businesses who are unable to normally attend meetings.

"Therefore, I would like everyone who has any ideas, including old or existing ones, that you believe could promote Seaton in any way to forward your ideas to [email protected]. uk

"At the last meeting held at Marshlands I stated that all ideas are great; if one person fails in doing something we can try it another way with people from the group.

"When sending me your ideas I will be happy to discuss them between us if you are not happy with discussing them within the group. Every idea is important and its achievability will be given every just to succeed."

The new vice-chairman and deputy mayor, Cllr Dan Ledger, was appointed at last night's meeting of the town council, held by video conferencing. He replaces Cllr Jack Rowland who has stood down to concentrate on his role as finance portfolio holder at East Devon District Council.

The council website reports that the meeting was "positive and pro-active" with a number members of the public joining in to hear the about the great work of the Seaton Food Hub.

The council was looking forward to hearing more views when the consultation is launched.

Seaton Town Council is currently operating with only seven members, five short of what should be a 12-strong council. Anyone wishing to offer their services should contact the town clerk, Julia Mutlow on 01297 21388.
