Creative couple Tom and Emily Gladstone have put their skills together to launch a new business, The Triptych Gallery in Seaton.

Tom, who has run a picture framing business on Harbour Road for the past 10 years, will continue to offer these services from the new gallery in Queen Street, which also offers a vast array of arts and crafts, using Emily's experience in running galleries and craft spaces in the Exeter area.

The couple are passionate about local craft and almost everything in the gallery is from Devon-based artists and makers. Triptych - which means a three-panelled piece of art - offers everything from soaps, candles and cards starting at just £2, up to more expensive paintings and pieces of furniture.

Everything is handmade, almost completely natural and made to last, supporting their 'buy less, buy well' ethos to reduce waste.

Some of the local makers whose work is currently available at the Triptych Gallery include jewellery by Exeter's Erin Cox; ceramics, prints and wall art by Hugh Dunford Wood, from Lyme Regis; hand-turned wooden chopping boards, bowls and cutlery by Rob Cadman; and textiles and paintings by Hesta Singlewood.

The collection will be changed regularly with four or five more makers expected to be displaying their work in the run up to Christmas.

Some of Tom and Emily's own creations are also available, including jewellery and hand-printed cushions by Emily, and photography by Tom.

They said they were really pleased to be able to offer a nice space for local artists and makers to show their work, and the response from the local community had been overwhelming since opening last week.

The gallery is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 1pm on Saturdays. You can find them on Instagram @triptych.gallery or search for 'Triptych Gallery and Picture Framing, Seaton' on Facebook.

Those interested in displaying their work at the gallery, or for more information, you can also contact Tom on 07775 038 238.
