This autumn the trend for outdoor events continues with a cinema in the Musbury Primary School field.

The event is a collaboration between the village school PTFA and Unique Boutique Events, the small business behind the popular Sidmouth and Seaton Eats Boutique street food markets.

On Saturday, September 25 Musbury Primary School's field will host the inaugural Lyme Bay Outdoor Cinema with LED screen, hot food and a bar complete with snacks and cocktails.

The event is being run by Eleanor Carr, director of Unique Boutique Events and a parent of two children at the school, with stewards and volunteers from the PTFA and the village. Profits from tickets sales will be donated to the PTFA.

Eleanor said: "The school field is a wonderful asset on the edge of the village, with rural views and plenty of space.

"The PTFA have a fundraising target of £15,000 to supply a trim trail in the field - an excellent facility for a small school, that builds confidence, strength and imaginations.

"Local businesses from Seaton, Musbury and Axminster are also supporting the event by advertising on the big screen and helping to meet the overheads of the event an increasing the profit.

"Richard Gay, a local farmer, has donated his field for the day for parking. The event organisers are encouraging anyone using this facility to donate their parking fee to the PTFA as well.

"And the children won't be left out. They'll be selling popcorn as their contribution to making the event a success and to achieving their fundraising target."

The films to be screened include 'The Princess Bride', a PG rated family friendly romp through romance, fantasy, action and comedy.

Released in 1987, it was slow to catch on but has since been recognised as the perfect film. The gates open at 2.30pm.

Later in the evening 'Cruella' will look fabulous on the big screen, with a dazzling array of costumes, two of Britain's favourite leading ladies – Emma Stone and Emma Thompson – and just the right mix of fun, revenge, and quirkiness. Gates for 'Cruella' open at 6.30pm.

Also available will be delicious street food from one of this summer's favourite vendors at Seaton Eats Boutique and the Unique Boutique events bar, with treats for the kids right up to the adults, including an extended menu from the popular Bar Buoys cocktail range.

Tickets are available on the day on a first come first served basis, priced at £10 per adult and £8 per child. A limited amount of early bird tickets will be available at £30 for four. These can be ordered by emailing [email protected]
