Seaton & District Hospital League of Friends would like to thank all their loyal volunteers and supporters, as we navigate our way through this most difficult time. 

This is a challenging time for charities with less income coming in, however, please be assured we will continue to fund the Seaton Hospiscare@Home Service - end of life palliative care for patients registered with a Beer, Colyton or Seaton GP who wish to remain at home at the end of life.

Due to the new restrictions, our charity shops must remain closed until further notice. We would like to thank all our volunteers, donors and customers for their support  over the last couple of months,  helping us to raise funds for Seaton Hospiscare@Home - a vital service in our community. 

Seaton & District Hospital League of Friends is a voluntary organisation which supports the work of Seaton hospital. We are able to provide much needed equipment and comforts for the benefit of patients and staff through the income raised by the work of our volunteers and from kind donations. 

Seaton & District Hospital League of Friends also funds Seaton Hospiscare@Home (formerly the Home Nursing Service), which provides expert nursing care to adults registered with a Beer, Colyton or Seaton GP who wish to remain at home at the end of life. The service also provides advice and support to carers and families of people with end of life care needs.

With the help of volunteers, the league runs a monthly community group, ' Friends in the Community', a Carers' Haven, two charity shops in the town and a weekly Bingo group.

Seaton & District Hospital League of Friends was formed in 1984 and received charity status in 1985, before the hospital was built. The hospital was built two years later in 1987 and a contribution was made by the League towards the cost of the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Units. In 1995 an Acute ward was added, paid for by the League.

The Constitution states that it is "to relieve patients and former patients of the Hospital and other invalids in the Community who are sick, convalescent, disabled, handicapped, infirm or in need of financial assistance and generally to support the charitable work of the Hospital".
