The Mayor of Seaton, Cllr Amrik Singh, has reported on a successful 12 months as he reaches the end of his year in office.
In a report for the town's annual meeting last week, Cllr Singh said he had been "proud" to serve as mayor and chairman of the town council over what had been another busy year for Seaton.
He said: "One of the council's primary aims has been to deliver projects developed as a result of the community consultation and, wherever possible, to work in partnership with local community groups, and East Devon District and Devon County Councils, to deliver for the town.
"We are fortunate to have committed staff and many different voluntary groups, each dependent on enterprising people, providing their time to support our wonderful community."
The report outlined several highlights of the year, including the opening of the new Tourist Information Centre and council offices on the seafront, which have health with almost 4,000 enquiries since opening in April 2022.
The council said that the Seaton Summer Celebration was the biggest highlight of the year, with more than 3,200 attending the event at Cliff Field Gardens as part of the Queen's platinum jubilee celebrations. Sadly, just a few months later, the town joined the nation in mourning the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
A similar Summer Celebration is now being planned for 2023.
Other successful events had included Seaton in Bloom, the outdoor cinema at Cliff Field Gardens and the switch-on of the town's Christmas lights.
On the beach, new initiatives were launched including Seaton Beach School, the two-minute Beach Clean Station, Beach Toy Library and beach matter to allow for disabled access over the pebbles.
Additions have been made to Seaton Art Trail and improvements had been made to the town's green spaces, including the development of Seaton Sensory Garden at Seafield, which helped contribute to the town's ongoing Green Flag status. More public benches have also been installed around the town.
