Lyme Regis lifeboat crew was launched on Tuesday to reports of a boat drifting off Seaton beach and a kayaker attempting to tow it.

The sea conditions were flat, so the lifeboat arrived approximately 10 minutes after launching at 6pm.

The boat was anchored off the beach and was attended by another boat and the kayaker – all were safe and well.

This was the 32nd emergency call to the Lyme Regis crew so far this year.

Please remember, if you see someone in trouble in or near the sea, call 999 and ask for the coastguard.
