Seaton and Beer were shown off to their best in a TV series presented by Kate Humble last week.

The third episode of Kate's 'Coastal Britain' series on Channel 5 saw her walk from Stonebarrow Hill near Charmouth, onto Lyme Regis and then to Seaton and Beer.

The episode was released after Kate was spotted filming in the area back in July 2020.

The TV presenter described Lyme Regis has "one of my favourite towns" and visited regularly as a youngster to enjoy the beach and mackerel fishing trips.

During the episode, she went on a fossil hunting trip in Charmouth, walked the historic Cobb in Lyme Regis and learnt about the coastal protection works which have helped protect the town from the ravages of the sea and landslides.

Kate then visited the historic Town Mill and one of the town's trendiest businesses, Lyme Regis Brewery.

Wes Dowell, who runs the brewery along with three friends, showed her the traditional milling process and how their beer is brewed on site.

Kate then headed across the Devon border via the Undercliff Nature Reserve and enjoyed a tram ride in Seaton and some bird-spotting on the Seaton Wetlands.

The episode also featured some 1960s footage of Seaton's former holiday parks in their heyday.

Kate then travelled onwards to Beer, where she learnt about limestone quarrying trade and visited Beer Quarry Caves.

She also enjoyed a crab fishing trip before finishing her walk with stunning views across Lyme Bay from Beer Head.
