Colyton got into the festive spirit as the town switched on its Christmas lights on Wednesday.

The town centre was absolutely packed for the return of the annual Christmas Fayre, organised by Colyton Caterpillars pre-school, which saw Father Christmas switching on the spectacular lights from the balcony of the Colcombe Castle.

Santa and his helper treated the kids by throwing balloons, party poppers and sweets to the excited crowds below.

Other entertainment included a brass band playing Christmas tunes, carol singing and a performance by Seaton Majorettes.

The Town Hall and businesses around the town were packed with stalls of crafts and gifts, while street food stands took over Market Place.

St Andrew's Church also opened its doors with various nativity scene displays on show.
