Heavy rain caused flash flooding in some areas of Seaton last night.

Harbour Road and the Esplanade were particularly affected by the heavy rainfall, with some businesses having to use makeshift flood defences to prevent damage.

Lloyds Bank has closed today (Friday) to clean, fix electrics and dry out the premises after being affected by the floods.

The WH Smith Local on Harbour Road posted the above photos on social media, adding that no water came in the shop but its garage and outbuildings had been affected.

The Esplanade was described on social media as looking "like a lake" and the heavy rain also caused damage to paving slabs in Queen Street.
