Plans are afoot to bring together two of Seaton's biggest attractions next year.

Seaton Tramway, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, is hoping to create a new stop which will allow passengers to alight a Seaton Wetlands.

Tramway chief executive Jenny Nunn hoped that planning permission will be given the go ahead in the next few weeks, allowing work to take place through the winter months with the hope of opening the new stop at the Swan's Nest 'passing loop' in spring 2021.

The work will be carried out in partnership with East Devon District Council and will use Heritage Lottery funding towards the £100,000+ cost, match funded by the tramway itself.

The project will improve access to Seaton Wetland Nature Reserve, enabling tram passengers to explore its trails, hides and other visitor facilities.
