Beer Coastguards have now been called to 11 incidents in 11 days.

In their latest call-out, the coastguards were tasked along with the ambulance service to a 71-year-old man with chest pains on the coast path just east of Weston Mouth at 12.57pm today (Tuesday).

We arrived at Weston car park just after the ambulance and, after locating the casualty, transported equipment and one paramedic to the scene.

After some treatment he was able to walk the short distance to the ambulance and then to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital for further treatment.

This followed a major search operation last night in which the coastguards were stood down at about 4am.
