The Gateway Theatre in Seaton had an egg-citing egg-travaganza of a weekend, with an Easter trail around the town.

Children and families were invited to hunt for a brightly coloured rabbit that was hiding in a number of local shops and cafes, to find six letters and then work out the remaining letter from the words wrapped around the wave sculptures at Fisherman's Gap.

The seven letters spelt a name that was linked with The Gateway's afternoon film, which was 'Peter Rabbit', and the answer was 'Beatrix'.

Even though this was the first Easter trail The Gateway has hosted, it was extremely popular and Laila was named the lucky winner of a chocolate Peter Rabbit.

There was also something for the grown-ups, with one of The Gateway's famous picnic film nights, with a screening of the famous Agatha Christie character, Hercule Poirot, in 'Death on the Nile'.

One couple who were holidaying nearby had been given tickets by their son and have said they are going to make a trip to The Gateway part of every holiday from now on.
