Hospiscare is inviting residents to host a coffee morning this September in return for a donation to the Devon-based hospice charity.

Thousands of cups of tea and coffee are made each year in the local hospice, providing comfort for patients and their families.

By hosting a coffee morning for Hospiscare, you can help fund specialist end-of-life care across the heart of Devon.

Whether organising a get together with friends, family or colleagues, setting up a bake sale or organising doorstep deliveries – there are so many ways to take part in the Hospiscare coffee morning.

Laura Robertson, fundraising projects manager at Hospiscare, explained: "Hospiscare coffee mornings take place all over Devon and offer a great opportunity to get together over a cuppa.

"Thanks to our supporters, last year's events raised over £20,000, which is incredible - we can't wait to see what our supporters have planned this year!"

Hospiscare supporter Janice Haynes added: "My dear friend was so wonderfully cared for during her final weeks by Hospiscare, so I held a coffee morning with coffee, cake, a raffle and an auction. The prizes were generously donated by members and local businesses and the day was a great success, raising £1,300.

"I was gobsmacked by everyone's generosity, and it is a privilege when someone shares with you their own personal experience as to why they are donating.

"Whether you hold a coffee morning for a few friends, or on a larger scale, you are helping a tremendous charity!"

This year's coffee morning campaign is kindly sponsored by Moshulu – a Devon based business and one of the UK's leading footwear retailers.

Steve Bolwell, managing director at Moshulu, said: "Through the sponsorship of Hospiscare's key coffee morning event throughout September, alongside the sales of Moshulu products in selected Hospiscare stores, Moshulu is delighted to be supporting the hospice and their mission to provide comfort and care to those going through challenging times.

"We're really pleased to be working with such a well respected local charity that means so much to our customers and staff alike.

"Moshulu is all about the cheerful things in life, and I think a good piece of cake can bring a smile to most of our faces, which is why sponsoring Hospiscare's coffee morning campaign throughout September sits perfectly with our brand values."

This year, everyone who organises a coffee morning will be in with the chance of winning a £100 Moshulu voucher and an afternoon tea for two at Lympstone Manor.

All funds raised will ensure the local hospice can continue to provide free end-of-life care for local people living with a terminal illness.

The hospice supports close to 2,500 patients and their families every year across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, and needs to raise around £8 million a year to continue providing this support, with just 19% of the charity's income funded by the NHS.
