Devon-based footwear brand Moshulu has partnered with Hospiscare, the county's much-loved hospice, as their local charity of choice for 2023.

Hospiscare supports close to 2,500 patients and families living with terminal illnesses across the heart of Devon every year.

In support of Hospiscare's important work, Moshulu is providing footwear samples and seconds to selected Hospiscare charity shops, the sales of which will go entirely to the hospice charity.

"We're really excited to be supporting such an important local charity whilst ensuring the best lifecycle for our products from a sustainability standpoint." said Kate James, head of marketing at Moshulu.

"The footwear we're supplying to Hospiscare is almost unworn or in some cases entirely unworn. There are model samples that have been used on photoshoots, product samples that didn't quite make it to our shelves and some seconds which have very minor faults.

"Sizes, styles and colours will be limited, but there are real bargains to be had!"

Moshulu products can now be found in Hospiscare's charity shops in Budleigh Salterton, Crediton, Cullompton, Ottery St Mary, Okehampton, Tiverton and Seaton.

The charity shop partnership makes up part of a wider giving back project for Moshulu, which specialises in colourful, comfortable footwear and accessories and which has also been raising funds for Hospiscare through staff events.

Thanks to their 'giving back' project, the family-run Devon business is also contributing to National Trust coastal projects in Devon with their sustainable product collaboration and will soon be supporting national charity Cancer Research UK with online sales.

Managing director Steve Bolwell said: "In line with our core values to lead with kindness and integrity and to love our Devon home, we're incredibly proud to be supporting our local hospice and helping to raise funds that will make a meaningful contribution to causes we believe in.

"Having raised £1000 in our first month is such a wonderful start to the project."

Helen Hutter, head of retail at Hospiscare, commented: "We are so grateful for the generous support we receive from our community and we're thrilled to be partnering with Moshulu on this scheme.

"Stocking their products in our shops is great for our customers, helping to reduce unnecessary waste and raising vital funds to support local people and their families affected by terminal illness."
