Seaton hosted a Crime & Safety Roadshow on Saturday, with multiple agencies and emergency services on hand to listen to any concerns of residents.

The event was organised by PC Sam Parfett, neighbourhood beat manager in Seaton, and was hosted in the Marshlands Centre in Harbour Road.

Residents were invited to come and learn safety and crime prevention advice from the police and fire service, with representatives from trading standards and the town, district and county councils also on hand to answer questions and concerns.

PC Parfett said he was pleased with the success of the event, which he hoped would now be repeated in neighbouring towns, including Axminster, Sidmouth and Honiton.

One of his main aims as neighbourhood beat manager is to ave a visible presence in Seaton and build connection within the community, which he hopes the roadshow and any future events will help to achieve.

One way you can stay on top of news from the police service and what is going on in your local community, is to sign up to Devon and Cornwall Alert.

This service allows the police to connect with communities, it tells you what is happening in your area and allows you to respond directly with any relevant information for the police. You can choose what kind of information you receive in the alerts – from general crime and anti-social behaviour to missing person appeals, community events and local good news.

The alerts can be sent out via email, text or telephone – just visit alerts.dc.police.uk to sign up.
