Colyton has welcomed Brian Norris as its new town crier.

Brian takes over the role from Derek Wenn, who hung up his robes in 2018 after 15 years of service to the community.

A reported in Colyton Parish Council's latest newsletter, Brian was appointed by the Colyton Chamber of Feoffees but have yet to give a public cry in full regalia due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Brian is a social entrepreneur using archive film-based reminiscence resources and services including the Tea & Memory Groups in Colyton and elsewhere.

He is looking forward to donning his colourful robes and ringing the bell in the not-too-distant future.
